
Job Title: Maintenance Supervisor
Reports to: Maintenance Reliability Manager
Schedule: This position will primarily work 1st shift Monday through Friday, with the flexibility to work weekends and 2nd/3rd shift as needed to support maintenance shutdowns and equipment reliability issues.
General Statement of Duties
Responsible for facilitating the reliability of our facility and production equipment to increase uptime and improve OEE while leading our Maintenance Tech Team and insuring our safety program compliance. Supports the production of a safe, high quality products and Team Member safety.
Essential Duties:
Essential functions of the position include, but are not limited to:
- Drive Preventive Maintenance work order completion and effectiveness through documentation review, audits & inspections. Review equipment breakdown events on a daily basis and pass accurate, relevant information along to affected departments as needed.
- Ensure all maintenance work is completed with strict adherence to all applicable personal and food safety requirements (such as LOTO, electrical safety, line break permits, SQF standards, and GMPs) including proper documentation.
- Minimize breakdowns through root cause analysis, identification of solutions, and corrective action using breakdown elimination tools and methods.
- Actively participate in the Continuous Improvement Teams (i.e. line performance teams and equipment taskforces) for all production Business Units.
- In coordination with internal customers and the maintenance leads, schedule and execute annual maintenance activities for all critical manufacturing equipment.
- With the planner/scheduler, plan, develop and oversee Team Members’ work schedules and work activities utilizing the weekly Master Schedule.
- Complete time cards/sheets and reports in ADP.
- Coordinate with external service technicians the support as needed to address reliability issues and support effective training of maintenance technicians & operators.
- Ensure the maintenance team adheres to proper procedures for documenting spare parts usage and work with the Maintenance Reliability Manager to ensure appropriate levels of spare parts and materials are maintained (including weekly review & reorder or critical spares).
Preferred Skills/Experience:
- Strong leadership, organizational and communication skills and floor presence.
- Successful member or leader of a cross-functional team in previous roles.
- Bachelor's degree (Engineering or technical degree) preferred.
- PMO or Reliability Centered Maintenance experience is a plus.
- HAZMAT Team Membership (technician level qualification is a plus).
- Formalized training in Preventative Maintenance Methods & Root Cause Analysis.
Minimum Qualifications:
- 3–5 years in leadership role
- Prior experience in a manufacturing environment (food/beverage, pharmaceutical and/or dairy is ideal).
- Proficiency in Computer systems to include Microsoft Office, CMMS programs, and electronic payroll systems.
- Prior experience working and leading technicians in a union environment.
